What is URL encoding?+

Also called percent-encoding, it replaces unsafe characters with % followed by two hex digits — a space becomes %20.

Should spaces be %20 or +?+

%20 is correct everywhere. + means space only inside application/x-www-form-urlencoded query strings; tick "+ as space" when decoding form data.

Why does my UTM link break?+

Unencoded & or # characters inside a value end the parameter early. Encode each value with component mode.
